We’re crying beautiful tears of joy, which you can spin for in the Snugglin grab
, because yesterday we released our first Artist Series Snugglin, accessories, and feature video in collaboration with artist Salla Lehmus!
In this Dev Diary, we’ll give you a little more background on what an artist collab looks like, and what else we’re planning for the future of the new Artist Series. Let’s go!
Who is Salla Lehmus?
Salla is a Finnish 2D Animator and Art Director who has previously worked with Janelle Monáe, and recently on animations for Ms. Marvel.
Salla draws inspiration from fierce women, Y2K fashion, Japanese animation, and video games. Her work centers confident, cool female characters, like Salli the Snugglin, whose heart-shaped locket opens a magical world filled with emotional depth and perseverance.

HR Collabs: A Brief History
Salli’s creation isn’t the only time we’ve worked with partners to bring a little more magic to your HR experience.
In the past, we worked with Rainbow to bring the world of Alfea to Highrise in our HR x Winx collaboration. You might also remember the sweet-treat event when we teamed up with the Museum of Ice Cream, a whimsical, immersive experience celebrating the art of play.
Making official virtual events with big names was a huge honor. It involved a ton of deep discussion to make sure that our team captured the essence of each collab in our art and events.
We’re hyped to do more big, community events like these… So stay tuned there! ![]()
But what the Artist Series aims to do is a little different. It enables independent artists to take the lead and bring their vision to you directly.
The Highrise Artist Series
The Highrise Artist Series invites distinctive creative voices into the world you log into every day. We’re partnering with specialty artists across mediums whose styles naturally align with Highrise, commission original artwork, and collaborate with our talented game artists to transform those ideas into limited edition collections.
Salla’s demo of Salli’s expressive personality
Each release carries the perspective and personality of its creator, thoughtfully adapted for each grab.
What you wear here in HR is how you express your identity. So, when an artist brings their vision into Highrise, you’re not just equipping a new accessory; you’re stepping into a creative point of view and supporting an independent artist in the process.
As the series grows, expect digital, physical, (maybe even metaphysical?!) art, all designed to add more depth and intention to your wardrobe.
More creators. More perspectives. More art.
And more opportunities for you to shape what comes next
. Head over to our Discord feedback channels to tell us which artists you’d love to see in Highrise. Your passion and creativity help us build the future together!
