Is this blog post part three in an event-focused series? Why yes, yes it is.
Lately, events have been getting a little extra love. UIUIX changes are peeking over the horizon, Runway made its return, and we’ve been pouring a ton of our focus into making each event feel truly special with custom rooms and more detailed artwork.
All these changes serve one purpose: we’re evolving events so each release feels bigger, more immersive, and more meaningful to the moment.
Here’s why!
Events Are Our Social Hubs
We tend to say, “even if you’re not a hardcore eventer…” a lot. That’s not because we think you need to be hyper competitive, because most people tend to event casually. Eventing can be a bit intimidating if you’re just starting out, or if you’re part of a mellow crew not hellbent on beating out the competition.
Events are the centerpiece of our collective Highrise life. If we were all villagers in a fantasy fiefdom, events would be the memorable seasonal chapters in which our humble hamlet would be visited by the troupe of merchants and bards. They keep us grounded, keep us together, and give us something to look forward to.
Players uncover new mechanics in Tarnished Hearts
It’s where you meet old friends and make new connections, and that process is helped when there’s something new and exciting to uncover together. We lurked and watched as you discovered in real time the unique heart-changing mechanics in Tarnished Hearts, and tbh - it was delightful.
Fresh Feelings, Every Week
You spend so much time competing and collaborating on events. And hey, so do we! ![]()
Last week, we mentioned that sometimes events can feel disconnected, and frankly, by the time one event finishes, it’s not long before it fades from memory. For the most part, they just drop, last five days, and then POOF. They’re gone.
With all the effort you put into making memories together in our weekly competitions, they should outlast their ephemeral lifespan with a longer, better buildup and a way to look back on them forever.
Lore, Vibes, Yes
Every blind box set is crafted with care and intention. A short video to set the mood opens at every grab launch. On socials, we share leaks and process behind-the-scenes. (Are you not following us on TikTok or our broadcast channel on Instagram? Why not? Do you not like sneak peeks and giveaways? What kind of monster are you?)
Teasers and videos give you a glimpse of the story and intention behind each collection, so you’re not just wearing the look, you’re wearing the lore.

Plus, we’ll be weaving more styling into the event itself (like fancy avatars sprinkled into the Runway models, and the Style Scout mechanic), so you can get outfit inspiration immediately while you play.
Historical Records
Inside the (freshly zhuzhed up) events menu, we’ll retain the rewards, art, ticket scores, and rank from events past. If you’re ever needing a little existential moment in which the passage of time astounds and horrifies, this will be a great way to review how much you’ve managed to do in previous weeks.
Consistent Eventing Flows… With Surprises
Like we covered last week, events are going to get a UIUX glow-up, bringing together disparate, vestigial UI elements into one cohesive look and experience.
But that’s not to say that every event will suddenly start looking, feeling, and interacting the same. Every week, we’re bringing you small QOL updates and fresh twists on familiar mechanics that make participating feel new while still intuitive, and create more ways to connect with other players.
As for more surprises… Be on the lookout for mini-moments we’re packing away into each event for those intrepid souls who have a hankering for exploring!
Tomorrow… Meet Nova Pop!
Nova Pop launches as a Y2K-Y3K-inspired exchange in full metallic splendor. Think nostalgic digital energy collides with futuristic flair. It’s social, it’s stylized, and it’s designed to be experienced, not just completed.
(Hyper)pop in and check it out for yourself. We’ll see you in there! ![]()
